What to look for

What a great performance coach actually does

Sport already taxes you; the gym has to add what the sport doesn't, without stealing from it. That's the craft — building a faster, more robust athlete who still turns up fresh on game day.

Trains qualities, not just muscles

Speed, power, change of direction and strength that transfers — programmed for your sport's actual demands, not a bodybuilding split with a sports label on it.

Periodises around your season

Off-season builds, pre-season sharpens, in-season maintains without frying your legs for the weekend. The calendar drives the program, and the program flexes when fixtures pile up.

Builds durability deliberately

The best ability is availability. Tissue capacity, sprint exposure and load management programmed on purpose — because missed weeks cost more performance than any session adds.

Reads your load, not just your lifts

Your logged sessions and check-ins — plus wearable data if you sync it — tell your coach when you're absorbing training and when you're just accumulating fatigue. The plan responds either way.

Questions

Before you hire

I play a team sport with club training three times a week — how does this fit?

That's the standard case, and it's exactly what performance coaches program around. Your coach counts club sessions and games as training load and slots gym work where it adds rather than competes — usually two or three focused sessions that flex with your fixture list.

What ages and levels do performance coaches work with?

From developing teens to masters athletes, weekend competitors to semi-pro. Each coach's published methodology states who they work with and how; if you're choosing for a younger athlete, you can read the coach's entire approach — and message them — before committing to anything.

Does Repstra cost me anything?

No. Coaching stays free for clients — the app, your workouts, nutrition tracking, check-ins and messaging never cost you a cent. You only ever pay your coach, at the price they set, directly.

How do I know a coach is actually good before I pay?

Every coach on Repstra publishes their real methodology — how they program, how they handle nutrition, how they check in — before they can charge anyone. Read their actual work, compare a few, then message the one who makes sense to you. No blind commitment.

Do I have to train in person, or is it online?

Both exist on the marketplace. Many coaches work fully online — you get your program, log workouts, track food and check in through the app from anywhere. Others list a location if they also train in person. Each profile says how they work.
