Personal trainers for building muscle — programs you can read before you pay.
Muscle is built on progressive overload, enough food and boring consistency — not on a new program every three weeks. Every hypertrophy coach here publishes how they actually program, so you can see the method before you hire it.
Every coach's methodology is public before they can charge you a cent.
Talk to the coach, do a free intake, make sure it fits.
Programs, nutrition, check-ins and messaging — free for you, always.
Build muscle coaches are joining now.
Repstra is in early access and new coaches list every week. Tell us your goal and we'll match you to a build muscle coach as they come on — or browse the full directory now. Coaching stays free for clients; you only ever pay your coach.
What a great hypertrophy coach actually does
Getting bigger is simple, not easy: train hard, progress the numbers, eat enough, sleep. A coach's job is making sure all four actually happen — and knowing which lever to pull when the scale or the bar stops moving.
Programs progression, not novelty
Sets, reps and loads that build week over week, with every session logged in the app so nothing progresses by feel. When a lift stalls, the program answers it — you don't have to guess.
Fixes the eating side
Most people who "can't gain" are under-eating and most who "get fat bulking" are over-shooting. A coach sets a surplus sized to your rate of gain and adjusts it off your actual weigh-ins.
Coaches the reps themselves
Two more centimetres of range and a rep shy of failure beats sloppy ego lifting every time. Form feedback and effort targets are the difference between training hard and just being tired.
Keeps you at it for the months it takes
Visible muscle is a 6–12-month project. Weekly check-ins, logged PRs and someone watching means you're still training in month eight — which is where the results live.
Before you hire
How much muscle can I actually gain?
A newer lifter training well can gain muscle at a rate you'll see in the mirror within a few months; it slows every year after that. A good coach sets expectations off your training age, keeps the bar (and your bodyweight) trending up, and stops you burning months on program-hopping — which is the biggest gains-killer there is.
Can I build muscle and lose fat at the same time?
Often yes, if you're newer to lifting or coming back from a break — coaches call it recomposition, and several coaches here specialise in it. If you're leaner and more trained, your coach will usually sequence phases instead. Their published methodology tells you how they handle it.
Does Repstra cost me anything?
No. Coaching stays free for clients — the app, your workouts, nutrition tracking, check-ins and messaging never cost you a cent. You only ever pay your coach, at the price they set, directly.
How do I know a coach is actually good before I pay?
Every coach on Repstra publishes their real methodology — how they program, how they handle nutrition, how they check in — before they can charge anyone. Read their actual work, compare a few, then message the one who makes sense to you. No blind commitment.
Do I have to train in person, or is it online?
Both exist on the marketplace. Many coaches work fully online — you get your program, log workouts, track food and check in through the app from anywhere. Others list a location if they also train in person. Each profile says how they work.
